We have around 1,500 UW Madison graduates in the Greater Austin Area (including as far
south as San Marcos and as north as Leander and Georgetown) and many more who are
simply part of our Wisconsin family here. On the WAA's electronic (email) list, there are about
950 people. To ensure you're on the distribution list, be sure to update your WAA profile by
making sure your address as marked as Austin, Texas (or surrounding area). About 100-150
are active members in our Alumni Chapter and about 15 are on our board of directors. In any
one year, most of these people participate in some Alumni Chapter function or activity, such as
Founder's Day (spring), Brat Fest (fall), or game watches (during the academic year), or other
events like happy hours, bar crawls, and softball.
Our scholarship program is one of our primary charters as an organization. All money raised
during the year goes to support scholarships range from $500 to $1000 to local Austin area kids
who attend UW. The scholarships are awarded in June. For more info, check out our

We look forward to you keeping your Badger roots alive by becoming members of the Austin
Badgers!

* encourage qualified young people to attend UW-Madison
* support local students attending the University of Wisconsin
* provide UW-Madison alumni, parents, and students in the area with a local connection to the

* foster fellowship and cooperation among alumni and friends of the UW.
* serve as a tool for networking in the local job market.
* provide leadership in the support of higher education.
* socialize in the famous Badger tradition!
* assist and support UW student and alumni organizations.

We welcome ideas for activities as well as volunteers to plan or host events.
Support Local Students by giving to the UW Alumni Club of Austin Scholarship Fund. All funds
collected, up to $8,000, will be matched by the UW Foundation. All proceeds will go to deserving
local students attending UW-Madison.
