Austin Badger of the Year 2011
Announcing the Winner of the First Annual Austin Badger of the Year......
University of Texas Law Professor George Dix
About the Award:
This award honors a UW graduate in our community who is a leader in business, through
community or volunteer activity, or through service to his/her profession. Nominations were
accepted until mid-February, and the winner was selected by the local WAA Austin Alumni Board.
The Austin Badger of the Year will be honored as part of the Austin Area Founders’ Day
celebration on April 14, 2011.
Established in 2004, the Badger of the Year awards honor UW-Madison graduates who have
made a positive impact on their communities. Initially a Wisconsin-focused program, this year
WAA encouraged all alumni chapters to present a Badger of the Year Award as part of its 150th
anniversary programming that centers around celebrating alumni.
