This year's Founder's Day took place at Scholz
Garten on the evening of Thursday, April 22,
2010. With over 55 people in attendance,
Founder's Day featured a cocktail reception,
barbecue dinner, a guest appearance by
Foundation Rep Russell Betts, and a fabulous
speech by Professor Emeritus Tino Balio of the
Communication Arts Department at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison.
Professor Balio gave an overview on the "Merger
Movement in the New Hollywood." His oration was
a piece from his recently completed a book,
tentatively entitled, “The U.S. Art Film Market,
1946-1973,” which will be published by the
University of Wisconsin Press in fall 2010.
