This year our club assembled a team to compete in the Silicon Labs Marathon Relay on
Sunday, September 27, 2009. The intent of fielding a team was to raise money for our Club's
Scholarship Fund through donations and pledges
The 26 miles (42 km) were broken up into legs of 12km, 10km, 10km, 5k, and 5k with a
different member of the team running each leg.
Meet the Austin Badgers Team:
The Austin Badgers Team finished with a collective time of 3:50! The winning team from the
event set a Guinness Book World Record for the fastest marathon relay time (2:09).
Collectively, the Austin Badgers Team raised over $600 for the Scholarship Fund-- each dollar
raised will be matched by the WAA, meaning the event helped generate over $1,200 for future
Austin Badgers!
